A Project On Load Balance Based On Network Processor

On base of traditional load balance research based on Network Processor, the NP can not bring its advantage on the data processing in the huge and high flows. Data congestion and the limited servers'load are the primary factors to make the load balance not reach the optimal values.So, this paper designed and achieved a solution of load balance based on network processor. Detail to say, by re-devising and using the searching module TCAM, and the assistant storage of CAM and DRAM in the network processor, it put forward the twice-search based on CAM, and backed-search based on DRAM, these two are called multi-module management search strategy in together. By this strategy, it may reduce the searching time, improve the efficiency of entire data processing. Also, by adding counters, it actualized the dynamic balance of data stream.And by the multi-module management search strategy technology, the NP can make great efficiency in data processing, and also, the capability of data stream, which the character is generating much data packets and the destination IP gathering, especially the speech data, can be largely advanced.This paper focuses on the algorithmic description, takes an example to test, and to give further explanation. At last, the merit and weakness will be shown, and what the way of future works is.
