| The substitution of the mobile phone for fixed telephone have become evident as the rapid development of mobile phone services. Fixed telephone business decreases quickly year by year. Compared with the mobile terminal, the shortcoming of the traditional fixed telehpone service is the fixed terminal and the simple function. How to develop the traditional fixed terminal has become an important reseach of the Telecom Operators.To study the feasibility of soft terminal, The China Unicom has developed a "Communications Assistant" which is based on the Next Generation Network (NGN). This service is the extension of fix telephone service, which has more powerful functions, and an intelligent visual communication soft terminal which have IM etc.. Costs of the service upgrade is so less than that of the physical terminal..This article defined the Communications Assistant business, identified various functions. This business built on a Softswitch-based open platform which can carry a number of NGN-based new businesses. This article makes the specification of platform architecture and interface, provide the technical requirements, according to China Unicom network status, this work made an networking scheme of softswitch-based open platform and Communications Assistant business. So far, this business has been carried out in Beijing. This reseach is helpful explore for development of fixed phone.In this work, my responsibility is making business process, do the technical specifications, platform planning, network planning, and so on. |
