IVVR(Interactive Voice and Video Response) is a kind of new multimedia value-added service,its predecessor is the traditional IVR (Interactive Voice Response).IVR provides 24-hour automated service by unified responses. Users can select different service processes by dialing different number. The IVR system receives user's information and finishes its job. It has been widely used in various industries.With the development of the 3G (3rd Generation) techonology, the traditional IVR system has been unable to meet the various multimedia needs of the new era. IVVR thus was born and it is a new wireless value-added service which can provide audio and video services. Compared with IVR, IVVR is not simply to add video function, more importantly, it can provide a wide range of new multimedia services based on basic video ability, such as video show, video mail, video message, video monitor, video uploading and video sharing, video conferencing, video customer service and so on, it will certainly bring 3G mobile phone users a whole new communications experience.IVVR is still an emerging service and there is no uniform standard now. The directory tree of the traditional IVR is fixed.It is difficulty to update.This thesis proposes an IVVR system based on SIP application server, whose directory tree can be updated by modifying the configuration file.The business services can be added, deleted and altered in this system conveniently.This system can control the multimedia functions through the interface between the SIP application server and the media server. It can also connect the RSTP(real time streaming protocol)service platform,the video surveillance platform and the video uploading and video sharing platform,in order to show users the rich multimedia functions.This system can communicate with the the portal platform to manage and organize the variety of business services.This thesis is structured as follows:Chapter 1, background briefing. It is divided into two sections, IVVR background information and 3G background information.Chapter2, SIP application server and protocol briefing.It first introduces the NGN, IMS and application server, then describes the SIP, ISUP and BICC protocol.Chapter 3 describes the design and implementation of this system, includes five parts:the access module, the interface module, the media control module, the dynamic directory tree module and the business module. The access module is divided into two subsections, the ISUP access process and the BICC access process.The interface module describes the interface between the IVVR system and other platform. The media control module provides MSML (media server markup language) script to control the media process. The dynamic directory module describes how to update the directory tree and how to interact with user. Chapter 4 is the test report of this system.Chapter 5 discusses the advantages, disadvantages and futher study of this system.
