In recent years, massive growth of data transmission led to the increasingly urgent demand for bandwidth and rate. However, the traditional electrical interconnection limited by narrow bandwidth, the rate that is difficult to meet the higher requirements and electromagnetic compatibility issues had become a bottleneck technology in transmission, so that it can not meet this growing demand. The optical interconnect with its advantages of huge capacity, high bit-rate, non-interference, low power consumption, and so on, is becoming more and more attractive for people. As a number of its advantages, the opticalit interconnect is bound to replace the electrical interconnection, and become the main communications interconnect. This paper mainly research the design of evaluation board of high-speed parallel optical modules which is used in optical interconnects. In the first chapter, the advantages of parallel optical interconnection in transmission and high efficiency calculation are discussed. In the chapterⅡ, the high-speed circuit and the signal integrity problems have been studied and explored a number of key design rules of high-speed PCB. In the chapterⅢ, which through the easier issues first, and completed the design of evaluation board of 12×3.125Gbps high-speed parallel optical module. And accumulated experience in the development of high-speed signals, even applied to evaluation board design of 12×6.25Gbps high-speed parallel optical module. The actual test is consistent with the design of the expected results. After the study of the existing architecture of several large-scale MEMS, chapterⅣproposed an approach of shrinking the substrate of multistage 2-D MEMS optical switch, which made MEMS optical switch array cost-effective. The final chapter conducted a brief summary of full paper.
