Research And Testing Realization Of Interworking Between PTN With Other Transport Network

The concept of packet transport network(PTN) covers a very broad group, MSTP,PBT,RPR,other packet transport technology based on MPLS enhanced functions and even the techs which mainly focus on backbone line &metropolitan core layer, such as IP Over WDM/OTN/ROADM and so on, while specially PTN means the technology of MPLS-TP.MPLS-TP is connection-oriented; it can construct the end to end packet transport channel. The channel can be constructed by network management system or smart control plane, with fine operation,maintenance,protection and recovery features.MPLS-TP can load the services based on IP,Ethernet,ATM,TDM and also on the Ethernet physical layers. In conclusion, MPLS-TP has the main feature as follows:the introduction of OAM mechanism with the transport concept; the general packet switching transport technology with the protocol combination of layer 2 and layer 3;high network survivability and extendibility and avoid the unnecessary process;general management control plane---GMPLS,with the compatible packet switching, TDM and wavelength technology.Interconnection and interworking is one of the main core matters of PTN network, and also the hot area of PTN network.The article represents the development background, home and abroad research dynamic state and significance. The research content mainly focuses on the network article and interfaces of MPLS/PBT/T-MPLS and SDH/MSTP/IP/MPLS network, and represents the model and procedure of interworking between PTN and other transport network. The article also verifies the model by the way of China Mobile interworking experimental testing, providing some good reference for PTN actual interworking project.
