The Research Of The Project Of PHS Network Optimization In Beijing

Construction of Beijing PHS Network was started in year 2003.And it was optimized with its construction step by step within the following six years. Nowadays, with the emergence of 3G system, PHS is supposed to step off the stage of the history. But for sure, during its construction and optimization, a large number of professionals were trained and have accumulated much experience on maintenance and optimizing.This paper mainly focuses on the whole picture of the Beijing PHS Network, the iPAS systems of UT Co., and the ZXPCS systems of ZTE Co.. It explains the basics of PHS network optimization, and the role that optimization plays on network quality improving. It studies the network optimization project in Yanqing University City. During this project of 16 months long, network data was periodically analyzed and the tests were performed in the actual areas. As a result, by group-controlled base stations and adjusting the Paging Area, the problem of network quality sharply dropping caused by overload of users and traffic was effectively solved. The project of optimization in Yanqing University City illustrates the solution for the burst traffic on hot spots. And because of its relativity and feasibility, this project provides a general method to solve the similar problems in the future.
