As the CDMA network is being constructed larger and larger nowadays, it is used widely and deeply. How to prepare the network resource and how to improve the operation quality are the necessary conditions of attracting clients and extending services. Corresponding work of operational maintenance, especially the network optimization becomes more and more important. The foundation of network optimization is the efficiency of data needed in optimization and the cost of data acquisition, because the work of network optimization can not be done without studying and researching this data. There are many kinds of data which can be used in network optimization, and the wireless network call detail log, which records all the information of a call from the very beginning to the end, can not only represent the behaviors of real clients, but also report the performances of network when calling, is very important and has unique advantages, and is not hard to acquire. This paper researches the common and important problems in CDMA network optimization, such as coverage optimization, voice quality optimization, put-through optimization and switchover optimization, based on the research of the wireless network call detail log, and then finds the way of solving these problems and gives some practical optimization plans. After researching those optimization theories and methods, this paper places special emphases on implementing the arithmetic of network optimization coverage area and the grid arithmetic, uses them on wireless network optimization platform, and analyses the related test results at last.
