The Research And Design Of Communication Simulation Platform Based On SCILAB/SCILAB

Simulation software has become a necessary part of the course of Telecommunication Principles. The introduction of open source software to the university laboratory, is not only save the limited education outlay, be good to develop potential of students, but also foster the awareness of copyright for students.Free software in scientific computing SCILAB is in the pursuit of "freedom, create, share", and become a banner of free software. SCILAB can be used as a scripting language for algorithm testing or numerical calculation, at the same time, it is a programming language. It is mainly used in scientific computing.SCILAB as a graphical simulation toolbox based on SCILAB provides users a graphical way of modeling dynamic systems with a wide range of applications suitable for the standard module library. These advantages greatly simplify the system structure and the complexity of transplantation, and make the system more intuitive.This paper discussed the meaning of introducing open source software to university laboratory, introduced the scientific software SCILAB, then tested performance of SCILAB/SCILAB system, MATLAB and another open source software Freemat in three aspects:the speed of calculation, Simulation Accuracy, and graphic capability. The result shows that SCILAB/SCILAB system can meet the requirement of communication Simulation experiments.In Chapter Three, the basis of designing communication toolbox SCICOM is introduced. According to the character of analog modulation and digital modulation, SCICOM is planed, as well as the research results of SCILAB and MODNUM blocks. Besides the SCICOM toolbox is general introduced.In Chapter Four, the usage of SCICOM in communication theory experiment is presented, and as an example, the baseband system is described to demonstrate this method. The simulation result is in accordance with theoretical result.In Chapter Five, analysis the performance of SCICOM, a baseband transmission system is designed as a testcase for SCICOM platform.In Chapter Six, attainment of this project are introduced, also the deficiency of this platform are presented.
