The Platform For OpenSource Science Computing And Education Based On J2EE

Scilab is a scientific software package developed by INR1A(The French National Institute for Research in Computer Science and Control).The most important features is free to use the open-source software platform.In 2004,the People's Education Press choose Scilab as a method of supporting teaching for the new secondary school mathematics books(B series).At present,there are 30 secondary schools choose the new B Series of mathematics books in Guiyang,the Province of Guizhou,so Scilab will used as a teaching platform.Next,all secondary schools in Guizhou will use it.So we set up this platform, which is a public application platform to provide the help and support for Scilab,and to provide the information in Chinese.The purpose of the platform for opensource science computing and education based on J2EE is developing network education upgrading the level of secondary education information,and promoting opensource computer technology.My work is establishing the overall framework,building the database, design some modules and code.Important implementation and key technologies include:1.The main functions use the Struts framework based on MVC model.2.Abstract and package data source access used to DAO factory pattern.3.Use MS Agent to increase user-friendly and interactive.4.Use FCKeditor Editor to integrate,process and manage the text, graphics,cartoon and other multimedia information.5.Research Java calling Scilab,and completing with DOS.6.In order to enhance the performance of database servers,so optimize connection pooling technology.The platform for opensource science computing and education has been basically completed.The web site is http://www.scilabedu.cn/.The platform is running well,and the visitors are 1074 now.
