This paper introduces an automatic test system based on Real Time and FPGA technology, which can realize data interactions between Host and RIO trough the Shared variables. This system leads in the perfect state mechanism, establishes reliable commands parsing mechanism and has function such as logic control, data acquisition, data transmission and data processing on CompactRIO embedded platform.The automatic test system provides friendly man-machine interfaces and uses configuration files to record test information which reduces the testers'workload. At the same time, the system provides many test functions to meet the various needs of the users.For the use of state machine mechanism on the system's RT layer, when users put forward a new demand function, we just need to add a state corresponding module. The system establishes a perfect command mechanism, uses shared variables to send-receive commands, and then realize the required function by analyzing these commands.Using reconfigurable I/O technology on CompactRIO embedded platform reduces costs of the hardware in the system while having good scalability and portability.The system also makes use of NI FPGA module, and can realize signal processing and other functions including measurement of voltage, current and waveform, cycle and duty ratio on hardware directly. The efficiency of the system has been improved greatly.
