J2EE-based Online Examination System In Vocational Colleges

Java-based online examination system aimed at achieving the paperless management of the examination, the examination of some subjects can be conducted via the Internet or LAN to facilitate the management of examination, also convenient to the candidates, particularly suitable candidates widely distributed, difficult to focus on the long-range education and the school, the province and even the national large-scale test project. System management, candidate management, online examinations, on-line production of paper, control student examinations, papers approving centers, and other functions were included in this system. The whole process of a systematic analysis, design and development were introduced in this paper. Data flow graph, ER diagram, flowchart and other procedures were used to illustrate the detail design process of this system. The whole text is divided into seven parts:the introduction, the technology and platform, needs analysis, system design, realizing, conclusions and forecast. B/S (Browser/Web) development model was used in this system, cross-platform, open, better safety performance development tool—Java was chosen, Tomcat server technology also used, t SQL Server 2000 was he background database.The three-tier Architecture was used in this system:JSPâ†'JavaBeanâ†'SQL Server 2000,that is to say, JSP pages were used to achieve performance logic at the front-end, Java-Bean components were used to achieve complex business logic within the system in the intermediate, and SQL Server 2000 database was used for data logic in the back-end.The integrity solution for java-based online examination system was illustrated in this paper, and a special principle of the topic classification was achieved:the examination subjects, types of questions, the difficulty, and the scores can decide by the administrators (teachers) themselves. Administrators (teachers) can complete the papers customized, the papers generated, and can carry out the papers preview, modification; the senior operations like examination papers'audit, release were completed by the audit administrator. The examination process was controlled by the audit managers, and can prohibit or allow state control of the candidates, at the end of the test, scores were given by score system automatically according to the Examination candidates done in real-time. The system has two local innovations:1.To protect candidates go on the test on the basis of the respondents in the examination terminal failure; 2.The difficulty of the paper can be adjusted dynamically In accordance with the records of the answers, including the number of people answering the questions, and the number of people who give the right answers. This system was tested successfully in Windows XP and Server 2003 platform. Already brought more convenient to my colleagues and me on the examination work, I hope that this system can extended to commercial areas in the future.
