Student Registration Management System For Elementary And Middle Schools In Ordos

Ordos has established a strategy for developing its educational system, which is based on information digitization to modernize and finally achieve development in education. Consequently, the CCP Committee and the government of Erdos have continuously increased the investment to facilitate the digitization of information which materializes in the gradually setting up of on-campus intranets of all elementary and middle schools and the intranet of all educational institutions. In order to implement the educational policies of the CCP and the central government, to reform the performance evaluation system of Ordos's elementary and middle schools and to have a scientific and comprehensive student registration system, the Education Authority of Ordos has drafted an administrative regulation-"The Regulations for Student Registration in Elementary and Middle Schools of Ordos (on the trial basis all thirty-five clauses), which is based on the previous experiences, in-depth research and thorough consultation. The regulation requires all institutions under the Ordos Education Authority to have dedicated administrators, dedicated rooms and computers for student registration management.The dedicated computers should have high specifications with LCD monitors, mobile hard drives and laser printers. The dedicated administrators should be professional and work on the tenure basis to ensure the accuracy and continuity of the student registration data from our schools and the regional area. An management information system (MIS) named "Student Registration Management System for Elementary and Middle Schools in Ordos" has been developed to avoid manual paper work and increase efficiency, which is Web based and consists of six modules-Data Processing, Data Editing, Information Retrieving, Registration Changing, Report Printing and Manual. Such a MIS system is modeled on the very popular Brower/Server (B/S) system, and totally in line with the MIS developing direction. The student registration management system integrates front clients and background servers with an unified interface, and automates over the internet which ticks all the boxes of a true computerized, automated student registration system.Since this system is a Web-based application, the very popular Web-based programming tool, ASP, was used for the front client development, and the database working at the background was Microsoft Access from Microsoft Office 2000. The whole system was developed using the Macromedia Dreamweaver. With a friendly interface, the system is easy to use and gives users a lot to control whilst being secure, reliable and easy to maintain. All in all, this is a very useful and practical student registration system.After a thorough analysis of the current situation of the student registration management system, the problems merit a total new system to be developed. In this paper, we started from introducing the developing tools and the principle of development followed by elaborating the construction of the student registration management system and the working rationale. Finally, we went into great detail about the main idea of the student registration management system, and explained the procedures to achieve all the main functionalities.
