| Along with development of information society, people pay more and more attention to the value of information, then, some problems are generated, such as information explosion, information gaps, information silos, information anxiety. For in the fierce competitive environment to improve their competitiveness, one must have a great capacity for collection and manage of information. Personal knowledge management is an effective integrated management activity, we can increase the level of personal knowledge and competitiveness capabilities by it. A lot of theoretical approaches and practical tools for PKM are provided by modern information technology, but these tools still have some problems in integrating the heterogeneous information, etc. As a new technology, topic maps can provide some ideas and technical support for PKM. The purpose of this paper is how to use the topic maps in PKM.The paper has a system study on PKM and topic maps. First of all, the study subject of PKM is"knowledge", the goal of PKM is revealing personal knowledge and converting knowledge by collecting, organizing and processing knowledge, then the knowledge can be expanded and innovated. The thesis describes the application and problems of the PKM tools, point the topic maps is an effective tool for knowledge management and knowledge organization. Secondly, the paper introduces the generation, constituent elements and structure model of the topic maps. It is feasible that using the topic maps in the PKM. Once again, the paper description the build process of the topic maps that based on PKM, including building principles, technical routes, methods, and build process and so on. Finally, the paper describes how to build the PKM topic maps using TM4L editor 2.0 and TM4L viewer, shows some functions and display the topic maps in visualization method.The paper used some research methods, such as literature survey, case example analysis, bibliometrics, content analysis, logical analysis, etc. |
