Researches On Topic Maps And Its Application In Knowledge Management Of Software Engineering Discipline

Topic Maps is a new method of describing knowledge and the relation of knowledge and information resources. It can locate resource position of knowledge concept and indicate the relationship among knowledge concepts. The property of XML which based on content and independent platform make Topic Maps more prosperous. With the appearance of XTM standard which prescribe the tag set of XML and grammar norms it make Topic Maps applied in something.In the environment of the knowledge based economy people recognized the importance of knowledge management. People who can create knowledge and be good at knowledge can success and derive the abundant profile. So knowledge management will be a key factor in the future competition.Efficiently exploiting,sharing,using and assessing knowledge will be a momentum of creating wealthy.Firstly, the definition of Topic Maps,the primary construction of Topic Maps and the appliction of Topic Maps are introduced in the paper. In the part of the primary construction of Topic Maps the following contents are introduced in detail,three concepts: topic,association and occurrence, two facets: knowledge facet and information facet,one model: Topic Maps hiberarchy model. In the part of the future appliction the thesis introduces internet information searches, internet information organize, internet information dig, internet information merge and digital resource knowledge management.Secondly, Topic Maps proprietary glossaries ,Topic Maps language XTM 1.0 and Topic Maps query language tolog are introduced. Topic Maps query language tolog is a language which is like SQL.Then,the method of constructing Topic Maps on knowledge management is studied systemically. This paper proposes a pattern of constructing Topic Maps on knowledge management and studies the pattern from the knowledge analyse, knowledge extract knowledge modeling and implement steps etc.At last ,using the method of constructing Topic Maps on knowledge management, a software engineering discipline knowledge management Topic Maps is implemented.
