Big Issue In China: News Ethics Disclosed In The Disastrous Event Reports

News ethics is an emerging marginal subject in China. With developing domestic communication technology and using widely, ethic issues in news information are gradually concerned. Particularly, in recent years, the news ethics by media in disastrous event reports have been attached importance in society.Due to suddenness, harmfulness, aggression, negativity and other features of the disastrous events, domestic government and media should report more discreetly. It involves that disastrous event reports and their news ethics have specificity, and they are unlike with common news, so as to cause a widespread concern in society. Since 1980s, news moral thought in the domestic disastrous event reports has been established step by step. However, depending on news innovation and intensifying competition in market, there are too many news ethics disclosed in society. For example, the disastrous event reports began to be distorted, solely pursued tragic results, regardless of interviewees'opinions, disturbed rescue works, ignored social benefits and supervision by public opinion. Subsequently, these news ethics lead to a serious adverse impact in society. Furthermore, they have many potential reasons which require domestic media and journalists to continuously solve and improve them in practices and development.This report will firstly describe the specificity of the disastrous event reports. Based on news ethics, applied journalism, communication, news psychology, and other subjects, this report will use qualitative approach and case study to research the disclosed news ethics of media and journalists in the disastrous event reports, investigate all reasons and analyze why they met the news ethics. Moreover, it will discuss the strategies and methods which can keep the news ethics away from the disastrous event reports, and will expects that they can help people solve the ethic problems in news practices.
