With the development of computer and network technology, an increasing number of shipyards use ERP management software to reduce shipbuilding cycles, improving the competitiveness of enterprises. In china, some large shipyards have use ERP system for many years and have good results.Domestic small or medium-sized shipyards are also aware of importance of the ERP system and try to use some ERP system. Shipbuilding industry is not the typical assembly line of manufacturing industry, different companies have different mode of management. So we can not make a universal ERP software system for shipbuilding industry. Meanwhile, most small or medium sized shipyards are located in the small city, this point lead to the small shipyards lack of expert who not only specialist in shipbuilding but also proficient in computer information technology to maintenance of ERP system. This is the reason of why many of ERP management software can not implement.The authors conducted research in the shipyard about those problems, and found the key point of successful implementation of ERP is process control and dynamic maintenance. Dynamic maintenance is more important than process control. This dissertation in-depth researches this problem.Material management system is the most important subsystem of ERP system. Supply and management of materials is the most important aspect of the shipyard. Meanwhile, because of changes in the market or changes of internal process of management or other factors, material management system will adjust more frequent than other subsystem. In this dissertation, the author uses the design subsystem, construction subsystem and maintenance subsystem as an example to discuss.Firstly, the author gives the business process of shipyard after detailed research in shipyard. Secondly, the author detailed designed the material subsystem and gives the main data table of material system. In the design process the author optimized the data table to meet the requirements of the third paradigm.Material subsystem with three-tier structure based on.Net Remoting technology has good maintainability. This type of software can work swiftly and decrease the technical difficult of maintenance. So this type of software is more suitable for small and medium-sized shipyard.Author introduction the advantage of reflection technology in the end of dissertation, and use this technology to obtain scalability. Author descripts the principle of reflection technology in detail and uses this technology in actual project.
