At present, in inland navigation industry of China, administrative functions departments and enterprises are interacting more and more frequently in a variety of business, especially in navigation information services, an information system based on an open, collaborative framework is urgent needed for them to launch applications and to work together; At the same time, to meet users'growing demand for inland navigation information, the processing of a variety of data, especially heterogeneous data is an urgent need to achieve sharing the results of treatment and transparent access. In this thesis the above two issues were studied. The middleware model discussed in this thesis is a reliable solution of heterogeneous database integration, it enables users to treat heterogeneous databases as a unified whole by providing a unified logical view of data to hide the details of the underlying data in the middle layer. Middleware can maintain the autonomy and shield the heterogeneity of each heterogeneous database at the same time, to support the application layer transparent access to the data source. Middleware model, application layer and database systems constitute a Browser/Server three-tier structure. Based on thin-client idea, this system uses IE browser as the client, lightweight and compact Tomcat as a WEB server, it is ideal for inland navigation e-government simulation environment. After the on-site investigation in Wuhan MSA, I found that the database of vessel's history information in the archives section, and the database of vessel's real-time information in the VTS centre are belonged to heterogeneous data sources. By intercepting some fields from the open data obtained from the on-site investigation, the database model of vessel's basic information is built in Access 2003 and the database model of vessel's real-time information is built in SQL Server 2005, the two databases are deployed on two LAN PCs. It is proved that JAVA can successfully visit both of the local Access database and the remote SQL Server database. Through the creation of WebTest project, respectively uses the JDBC-ODBC Bridge and JDBC middleware to connect the two heterogeneous databases simultaneously, writes the query page and the results page and tests the system. Test results show that to query a single ship's name, shipping companies and specific ship types, the system can run successfully and return the correct result. This thesis presents the international forefront concepts of E-NAVIGATION and RIS and mature application experience in foreign countries into our river, proposes inland navigation information system IE-NAVIGATION framework, introduces the popular concept of cloud computing and cloud storage at the same time, provides a new data processing idea of inland navigation; The heterogeneous database integration technology discussed is feasible, provides a convenient and effective solution for administrative departments and enterprises'e-government construction. In future research, a wider range of heterogeneous database integration, to improve the system interface, bring in the system security mechanisms and enhance user experience of the system will be a priority.
