With the development of industry, metal can be applied more and more widely, but the accompanying metallic corrosion problem also cannot be ignored. It results in a series of accidents such as natural gas pipeline leakage, equipment burning caused by lightning stroke, which brings about great loss to industrial production and people's life. So the development of an electrochemistry workstation which has the advantages of simple structure, low cost, and high performance, used for corrosion detection and research is quite necessary.An electrochemistry workstation based on electrochemistry theory is developed. The electrochemistry workstation comprises a signal generator, a potentiostat, a data collecting part, a MCU and an host IPC (industrial PC). The workstation can control and measure signals in an electrochemistry system such as current, and potential. It also can realize a cathodic protection function when the workstation is combined with a conductor resistance measurement system integrated in the workstation. The host computer sends an operating instruction, and receives and saves all parameters in electrochemistry reaction, so as to provide convenience to a research worker for analysis and process in a later period. Meanwhile, the electrochemistry workstation is also provided with an overload protection function, that is, a load loop can be turned off automatically and a warning sound rings at the same time, and when the failure is eliminated, the equipment can rerun automatically.In the aspect of hardware, the main circuit of the potentiostat is achieved by adopting a power amplifier LM1875, and the whole electrochemistry workstation is realized by combining a DAC8532, an MAX5436 and an ADS8361. In the aspect of software, a slave computer program is programmed through KEIL C to implement switching functionality and data acquisition; host computer program using C++ Builder to achieve the design of a human-computer interaction interface, and to realize functional instruction sending, data receiving and saving. Compared with the conventional electrochemistry workstation, the workstation adopting an advanced integrated circuit has the advantages of small system error, favorable performance, reduced weight and size of the whole system, and convenient equipment transportation. And furthermore, the workstation is provided with favorable performance in the aspect of cathodic protection, thereby having higher use value and favorable market prospect.
