Research And Evaluation On The Level Of Museum Management In Historical Relics System Of China

Museum is an important part of cultural heritage. It plays an irreplaceable role in the field of public education as non-profit social service agency. But the current level of museum management constrains its functions. Based on the analysis on the causes of problems in museum management, this paper selects indicators closely related to different aspects of museum management to establish an evaluation index system by multivariate statistical analysis, and conducts qualitative evaluation on the management level of China's museums according to statistics of China's 31 provinces (municipalities and autonomous regions) in 2008. Then, on the basis of the results, this paper conducts horizontal analysis based on the GAP analysis using GIS software technology. In this way, we can identify the vacant areas which are inadequate in resource allocation and management by comparing to their protection needs, to determine the future focus of museum management and make corresponding recommendations.
