Microwave digital phase shifter is a kind of microwave control circuit. Its main function is to control the phase of the microwave signal so that the phase can meet the need of the system. The phase shifter has very extensive application in many fields such as Phased Array radar, microwave communication, satellite technology and so on. Especially in the Phased Array radar system, the phase shifter is a key component of T/R section. Compared to the traditional radar system, Phased Array radar has a merit of small cubage, light in weight, high precision of detection, high speed reaction, low cost and commonly used. Every Phased Array radar needs thousands of phase shifters, which control the phase of radiator elements in the antenna aperture surface to scan beams fast. As Phased Array radar is used in star and airborne system more and more widly, so making the research of microwave digital phase shifter more urgent and important. So the subject research has an very actual meaning.The thesis discourses the whole process of the simulation design, the plating processing, the debugging and measurement at the last of the S-band 6-bits digital phase shifter. The basic theory of the digital phase shifter is lucubrated and four main kinds of digital phase shifter circuit, as well as their principle of work, is introduced in brief in the thesis. Besides, the thesis introduces and analyzes the principle of work and equivalent circuit of the PIN diode which is used as control element in detail and in truth.The S-band 6-bits digital phase shifter, which is designed in the subject, is worked in the frequency range of 3.2GHz±100MHz, the insert loss is mainly less than 3dB, the input and output VSWR is lower than 1.35, the maximum phase shift error is less than 5°. The size of the circuit is 66mm×38mm×12mm.
