With the development and application of internet and distributed, lots of enterprises, in their construction process, demand to integrate the distributed and heterogeneous data to realize data share. The traditional integration method can not describe the semantic of data formally; as a result, the problem of semantic mismatch can not be resolved in the processing of information integration. The main content of this paper is to use ontology technology to discuss a method to resolve semantic heterogeneous and achieving information integration.This paper discusses the methods and techniques of information integration, and points out that the heterogeneous problem of semantic is the main problem in heterogeneous data integration. Through the analysis of existing data integration approach and combine of Wrapper/Mediator and expansion of hybrid ontology approach, the SIIF has been designed, including the application layer,the query processing layer and the resource layer. By using XML as the unifying language, the paper builds the local ontology from XML schema, which can solve the problems of syntax heterogeneity. With the advantages of ontology in describing the domain concepts, the paper defines global ontology, local ontology, the global ontology and local ontology mapping, local ontology and data source mapping by using ontology to resolve semantic problems in information integration.This paper first describes the relevant information integration theory and technology, and expounds the basic concept of the ontology and its related theory. Then focuses on introducing SIIF in all levels function, and analyses the advantages of the framework. Discusses the key technologies for achieving SIIF, and introduces the system information integration process by using the scientific information records.In the end, the article describes the prototype implementation of SIIF, based on this, the prototype system has been tested to verify the ontology-based Scientific Information Integration Framework feasibility.
