With the development of computer and network, especially XML and related technologies to develop and mature, heterogeneous data integration has gradually become a research hotspot. At the same time in the information-based construction company built a wide variety of applications, due to the lack of effective collaboration between data exchange and sharing among the poor, has become a seat of "information islands". How the existing system implementation of data integration, information integration is currently facing important issues. This paper studies the current status of heterogeneous data integration and the relevant background knowledge of data integration and ontology, introduces the basic concepts and theory of ontology, ontology building guidelines, methods, languages, tools and other related technologies, elaborated on Ontology-based Information Integration. The integrated approach is proposed ontology-based logistics information integration framework of three-tier architecture, and detailing the method of user's searching.Secondly, detailing the method to build the mapping of the ontology and ontology building approach, with database and XML files as data sources. In heterogeneous logistics system, take conveyance served to customers as an example to show the process of creating logistics ontology. Finally, ontology-based integrated of logistics information system based on two disparate logistics information system, using an integrated framework of three-tier architecture, to realize two kinds of semantic integration of heterogeneous information systems. The prototype system integrates a relational database and XML file for the user interface front operation, to provide consistent information on the semantic level.
