Siku Quanshu,which was compiled in Qing Dynasty,Qianlong period, is the largest collection of books in ancient China. In order to finish this large project, Qianlong Emperor orderer all the province governors to collect books from folk areas. In Zhejiang Province, a special organization was found to collect books. And this organization also compiled a catalogue named Zhejiang Caiji Yishu Zonglu. This catalogue has important academic values both for the research of classical bibliography and Siku Xue. As a classical catalogue, for every book, Zhejiang Caiji Yishu Zonglu records its name, volume, edition, author. And each book has a brief abstract concluding many information about this book. In order to write these abstracts, the compilers referenced many other books and quoted many prefaces and postscripts. The most sets of category are reasonable and some categories are innovation. Zhejiang Caiji Yishu Zonglu is helpful to the edition study of ancient books, because it records each books' edition and the symbol of publishing, compares difference editions of one book. The catalogue also contributes to the research of bibliophiles. The compilers found some errors of other books and correct them. Zhejiang Caiji Yishu Zonglu and Siku Quanshu Zongmu were compiled in the same period. After comparing, We can find that there is close relationship between these two catalogues.
