China is one of the countries who have the world's largest dam blocks, while the dam-break rate is the highest, too. Therefore, focusing on its great social and economic benefits, in accordance with Technical Specifications of Concrete Dam Safety monitoring requirements, we need to dispose with the monitoring data. which are got from the integration processing, using different monitoring techniques and instruments. Mean while, we need to use these monitoring data to determine the outcome of the abnormal values of physical quantities of the monitoring, consider the function state of Concrete Dam, and analyze the integrity of the dam, check the stability of the dam, as well as the assessment of the dam forecast working conditions. All these efforts are of great reference value.This paper made a detailed analysis and description about Shimantan Reservoir monitoring data management system, including system design principles and methods, program feasibility studies, system design, database design and module design, etc. In order to make the paper convinced, I analyzed the specific requirements and technical background of Shimantan Reservoir, and used the well-known Borland's visual development tools developed by Delphi. The database ACCESS 2003 as the main programming tools for system research and development.The system interfaces included data management module, report production module (including the process of drawing the curve), the database module. The design and implementation of these features enabled the users to complete the daily management of monitoring data better. It can be operated easily, with friendly flexible and stable characteristics.
