The increasing competition in market and particular demand of customer bring the unprecedented challenge to modern enterprise. In order to adapt to the new market circumstances, the enterprise must make the production flexibility to response market fast. But the tools holds the quite important status in the entire production process, therefore improve the tools using factor, and manage the cutting tool effectively are extremely importantly.The tools management is an important topic in the area of advanced manufacture technology, it is very important to enhance the enterprise's strain capacity and the market competitive power comprehensively.In this paper, author analyzed the present situation of tools management in NC workshop, has drawn up the work flow chart of tools management, has used the IDEF0 chart to establish the function model of tools management system, and has carried on the detailed analysis to various function modules. Has analyzed the tools coding system according to the enterprise's condition, and designed the tools coding of NC workshop. The conceptual model of tools management system is described by using the entity relational graph, further transformed the entity relational graph as the relations database correspondence data model, and then the relationship of data was created by using SQL Server 2000 as physics database. Finally, gave the unified input-output pages of the tools management, and used ASP to carry on the network programming to realize the entire tools management system.This system has the strong usability, and is an effective tool in enhancing the enterprise's productivity and improving various departments' information sharing.
