The virtual plant is using virtual reality technology to accurately simulate the growth process of plant in three-dimensional nature on the computer , was in recent years along with many interdisciplinary studies including the botany, the ecology, the agronomy, the computer graphics as well as mathematics and so on development, it has become the agriculture information technology study at present and the computer graphics research hot spot. And the virtual plant root system research is the virtual plant research important component. As a result of the plant root system habitat's invisibility and the complexity, enable to the virtual root system's research to have the quite big limitation, and present mostly pauses to the virtual root system's research is simulating its separate change the growth process, but grows to the root system the tendency continuous analogue research is also very rare. This article namely centers on the tendency continuous analogue which the corn root system grows to launch the research, mainly has done the following work:(1) pair of corn root system's biology characteristic has carried on the analysis, summarizes its shape characteristic and the growth characteristic;(2) pair of domestic and foreign virtual plant modelling theory and the method have done the deep research, the analysis quite present commonly used modelling theory and the method, through quite screens, the union corn root system physiology ecology as well as the growth characteristic, select the differential L system theory to realize the corn root system dynamic continual growth model construction finally;(3) pair of present commonly used S shape growth function carries on quite studies, finally selects the Cubic function to describe the corn root system's growth change, and aims at this article the concrete application, has made the improvement to the Cubic function, causes it to conform to the real corn root system growth rule;(4) use differential L system theory, and has made the improvement to the differential L system production pattern, the union corn root system growth function, the construction corn root system dynamic continual growth model;(5) this article take the soil moisture content factor as an example, has established the soil moisture content restraint model which the corn root system grows;(6) unifies the three dimensional visualization technology finally, under the VC++2005 development environment, carried on the visualization simulation to the corn dynamic continual growth model to realize.
