Condition monitoring and fault diagnosing has been playing a critical role in manufacturing and engineering industries. A portable intelligent conditioning tester is used to monitoring the vibration signal of machines. Through data acquisition and signal processing, the signal is diagnosing. According to the golden standard for vibration and the signal spectrum in normal condition, the abnormal signal and fault symptom are analyzed. Finally the fault causes are identified which satisfies the need for condition monitoring and maintenance management in industry and promise machines long-periodic running without risk of failure. This portable intelligent conditioning tester is designed for the need of off-line non-periodic condition monitoring for a large quantity of non-critical machines or structures in industry. It is portable with multiple functions, that is, data acquisition, signal processing, primary diagnosing and early alarming. This research program focuses on the hardware design. It mainly includes the following parts:(1)the relevance and contents of Machine Diagnostic; (2)the research progress and application of conditioning tester and the hardware design of this portable conditioning tester; (3)how to choose a appropriate sensor and the process of data acquisition; (4)the design of data acquisition and signal-processing circuit for vibration signal; (5)the design of anti-aliasing filter; (6)the design of data acquisition and signal-processing circuit for keyphasor signal; (7)the SRAM extend and reset circuit for DSP; (8) function of portable conditioning tester and the Plant Inspection& Diagnosis Management System; (9)the development of portable conditioning tester.
