The use of rotating machinery is increasingly common in aeronautics, electric power, metallurgy, petrochemical and many industrial sites’key equipment. The operation condition of rotating machinery directly affect the safey production of the industries and life safety of workers. Besides, because of the high speed of rotating machinery which bring about many indefinite factors. So in modern production system, it is of great significance applying monitoring equipment to real-time inspection the conditions of the rotating machinery.Gear fault diagnosis is an important branch of rotating machine fault diagnosis. The vibration signal measurement of gear box is the commonly method of gear fault diagnosis now. But the signal processing is difficult due to the vibration signal path’s complexity and interference of this method. This paper design the vibration acceleration sensor which is installed directly on the gear box to measure vibration signal. The short-range wireless RF transceiver chip nRF24E1is responsible for sending and receiving signals. This measurement system can overcome the defects of hardly real-time acquisition and storage of rotating machinery vibration signal which could make a little change to apply in other work environment has great foreground.This paper includes following part,(1)the importance and presentresearch situation of rotating machinery fault diagnosis are briefly summarized.(2)through choosing the gear fault diagnosis model and the analysis specific issues, the right means of overall design and short distance communication are identified.(3)the hardware design process was completed, including reasonable component selection, hardware function designing, peripheral circuit designing and the design, simulation, soldering, use of the PCB board.(4)The software part of the system was completed, and the structure and working mode of the wireless RF transceiver chip nRF24E1was analysised. The software part of system includes the initialization procedure of the nRF24E1, A/D conversion procedure, the wireless transceiver procedure and serial communication program and so on.(5)The procedures were compiled and debugged.The system is proved to be feasible and effective by preliminary experiments.
