Mobile computing based on mobile devices and wireless networks is more and more extensive as the mobile devices are popular in society, so people can handle many applications by mobile computing in their living and working. Mobile query is a research focus as one of the most important applications of mobile computing.Unfortunately, Mobile computing has inherent defects, because it's weak connectivity, unstable, heterogeneous and low power, low processing performing, etc. Although it can be optimized by some researches such as broadcasting, replication and caching, query planning, but on the whole, the efficiency of mobile query is still far below than distributed query, it is the reason that weak connectivity will extend query time. However, Mobile Agent can optimize mobile query.Mobile Agent is combining with artificial intelligence and distributed computing, it has mobility, autonomy, coordination, intelligence and so on, so that it can widely use in distributed system, and show great prospects and superiority. We study mobile query optimization model based on mobile agent, it can improve the efficiency of mobile query, reduce impacted by the mobile computing environment. Meantime, it can resolve low efficiency, poor security, and low intelligence of the conventional mobile query model.Firstly, mobile computing environment and technology are introduced. Secondly, the concept and characteristic of mobile query technology are introduced in the thesis, and analyzed technical problems of mobile query. And then, the thesis introduced mobile agent technology to study its characteristic and architecture in recent years, which can improve mobile query efficiency. So a mobile querying processing optimization model based on mobile agent is designed and the variety part's resolution of its function and operational mechanism is detailed in the thesis, such as mobile agent migration strategy, mobile agent migration mechanism and the model's safe problem solving strategy. At last, this optimization model is simulated by Sun Java Wireless Toolkit and Aglet development platform.
