Mobile Database Caching Technology

Currently, we are in the era of network computing. People hope to access information anywhere and anytime. Mobile computing, which is come into exist due to the rapid expending technology of computer, wireless communication and network technologies, make it possible for mobile user. Mobile computing is a more flexible, complex distributed computing environment, the mobile databases technology is a distributed databases technology which supports the mobile computing environment and at the same time, the mobile agent technology has gradually played a more and more important role in distributed computing fields due to its inherent characteristics. Mobile agent has been the hotspot in current software technology research.Caching is a classical technology to improve the performance of data access. It has been successfully applied to different fields of computing technology. Caching will be even more important in mobile systems because of resources limitations of mobile devices and wireless network. To assure that applications take full advantage of cache, we use cache validation algorithm to determine whether data in local cache is consistent with the primary copy on the server. This article is based on the characteristic and aim of mobile databases, and a mobile database based on Mobile Agent model is designed. It can be used to solve many the problems resulting from the disconnection of mobile host in mobile computing environment, such as receiving invalid report.
