The Hotel Reservation System Based On J2ME Technology

With the economic development and improvement of living standards of China, More and more people choose to travel in the holidays. More business men explore business opportunities in various cities and it is an inevitable pivotal step for person to lodge in hotel when they are out of home. The development of hotel business depends on guests. A good system of booking hotel is very important for the hotel management structure. Booking hotel business has undergone artificial, telephone, computer and mobile devices as a platform for the reservation period. The current hotel reservation system based on Web is valued by many businesses with outstanding advantage of moving portability. However, the technology built on the basis of Web services, operating through mobile communication network to login pages made by hotels or hotel reservations agents. Limited device mobile phone clients cannot avoid some inherent drawbacks.These papers adopt object-oriented MVC ideas, with the Guidance to software engineering, use UML as design tool to analyze and build the hotel reseravation system based on J2ME(Java 2 Platform Micro Edition). J2ME is new Java version providing for application development of small, resource-limited, consumable electronic devices by SUN incorporation. It is used for many small, resource-limited electronic devices such as mobile phone, PDA and so on. Designing hotel reservation system with J2ME on mobile phones has a solid technical basis.The J2ME MIDlet of mobile phone client-side use JAX-RPC to achieve network connectivity with the server-side. Because mobile devices are limited, this system uses Tomcat as Web container and relational database SQL Server 2000 in hotel reservations agent server-side and axis as framework. The Web Service publishes service and responses to clients with SOAP engine,achieves clients to register hotel reservations and deal with orders, filter s and refines information mobile phone client requests, takes information mobile phone client conduct to server-side in degree, reduces occupying more network resources and improves the speed of mobile equipment.This hotel reservations system based on J2ME makes more beneficial improvement than the mode based on Web technology, visits all the Internet information in mode of Client/Server and strides over the constraint of Web using.This system extend the cell phones mobility adequately, play a role as a bridge between customers and the hotels, ensure the effective transmission of information and data in hotel reservations, provide the real-time information and reservation services of hotels in various cities for people out of home, improve the occupancy rates of hotel room and inject fresh energy to booking hotel business.
