| Since the reform and opening-up, in the face of "three rural issues" starting to prove, the communist party and Chinese government continue to put up the "three rural" policy. Therefore, how the mass media cover the government's preferential agricultural policies and the peasant's problems is a worthy to study on it.This study focuses on the newspaper reports about peasant of Nanfang Daily since the reform and opening up (1979-2009 year). After the analysis of samples, the author finds that since the reform and opening up Nanfang Daily theme of the peasant reports have the following characteristics:the late 70s to the late 80s of the 20th century, the main themes is about how the peasants become rich and democracy of the grass-roots; the 90s of the 20th century, the themes of reducing the peasant's burden plays a major role; after the 21st century, building a new countryside, protecting the rights of peasants and peasant workers are concerned. Meanwhile, with the reform and opening up, the peasant reports of "Nanfang Daily" is returning from the "propaganda based" to "news based"However, these reports have the following problems:the themes of the peasants reports is lack of forward-looking; peasants report's positions are being marginalized; no attention pay to the depth of coverage; the peasants reports have obvious geographical bias; public opinion orientation and supervision are of imbalance; characters of peasants report are playing a supporting role. The source of the problems is due to "Nanfang Daily" market-oriented ideas in conflict with the party newspaper mission.In the last part of this paper, the author puts up some measures to improve the peasant's report in the new times:firstly, the newspapers should have an excellent team of three rural coverage; secondly, the media should play good role of "mouthpiece" and "release valve"; thirdly, to strengthen the subjectivity of peasant; Last but not less, it should raise the level of public opinion. |
