With the development of information technology, more and more electronic equipment can be controlled by computers. The higher performance of bus is required, because the bus is a channel of information transmission among the modules. The emergence of PCI bus has solved the bottleneck problem of data transmission, the PCI bus has many advantages such as high-performance, low cost, open and independent of the processor, now it has become the mainstream of microprocessor bus. So, it's important to develop card based on PCI bus.This thesis gives a kind of image acquisition card, and introduces the overall structure of the image acquisition card. The working principle and chip features are anatomized in paper, the card of capturing images is divided into five modules--collecting data, displaying characters, storing data, controlling the interface of PCI and logical control. We discuss the function of each module and give an achievable hardware. The paper will focus on the implementation of hardware, and give the hardware of circuit.The paper introduces the I2C, SPI. The CPLD is selected to achieve the bus by software program. The PCI9054 is a special interface chip to complete the interface of PCI, and discussed such as working pattern, transfer mode. Finally, the paper introduces the characteristics of WDM driver. The Driver Studio is chose to design the driver of image acquisition card.It is a purpose to capture images and display characters that the card of capturing images be designed successfully. The produce can meet the actual demand.
