Research On Solution Of The TV Level Measurer With Functions Of Displaying Characters,Graphics And Motive Images

With the developing of televise, some new functions of TV level measurer are in more and more need. The following two are in the most need. One is displaying those measured data in graphics other than in figure. The other is displaying the active images of some TV channel. In this paper, a comprehensive solution of such a new generation of TV level measurer is proposed, which can achieve not only measuring TV signal level exactly but also the two above functions。This solution is based on VirgineG2,a multimedia processor,which is the controlling core of the whole system. A Flat Panel Display is used as the display terminal of the portable instrument, the resolution of which is 640x480. The high resolution of FPD(Flat Panel Displays) and the multi－functional characteristics make a bright future of the solution.In the solution,the resources of VirgineG2 is fully used. Firstly, the powerful graphic engine of VirgineG2 is made full use of to realize all sorts of graphics. Secondly, we utilize the se3208 core and the ample peripheral resources of VirgineG2 to control every modules of the system. What's more, VirgineG2 can output the graphics in a fixed resolution of digital non-interlaced data format which is accepted by the FPD.As a FPD normally supports only one fixed resolution of digital non-interlaced data format, the AV signal received from the TV tuner has to be changed into a fixed data format to be accepted by the FPD. SAA7114 and T0944 are chosen to do this work. And VirgineG2 can program the two chips via I2C bus to control the work status of them. Some hardware and software measuring methods are used in the measuring module of the system, which is controlled by VirgineG2. The circuit and relative software of the whole system are fully discussed in this paper.
