Design And Analysis On Postal Transportation Scheduling System Based On Google Map API

The postal network of our country is a huge complex system, and the postal transportation is the most important step in the whole process of postal operation. The postal transportation is the basis for transferring mails, and is the main factor in evaluating the competition ability and service quality of a postal enterprise. The current postal transportation scheduling scheme is made by experienced scheduling workers, and all transportations are carried out according to the scheme. And the scheme is made based on experience while suffering accident or sudden rich mails. The condition of the current scheduling method has induced many problems, such as slow scheduling speed, poor scheduling result, high labor and hindering the development of postal enterprise. Therefore, a software platform to provide scheduling scheme is needed, in order to liberate the labor force and improve the working efficiency.The developing software platform takes the Shandong postal network as the target. The platform includes three main modules; they are the search module, the data management module and the scheduling module. The search module can search geographic information, and search post office according to the city name or the postcode. The data management module mainly manages the data, such as postal cars, postal routes, train information, scheme information and data assessment. The scheduling module, the core of the platform, is used to schedule the ordinary mail and the express mail, and provides scheme for scheduling workers.The postal scheduling platform is developed in the.NET environment, which not only shorts the developing time, but also improves the safety and stability. The interfaces of the platform are programmed in C#, including the login interface, the main interface, the data management interface, the scheduling interface, password interface, etc. The map embedded in the platform is a web map based on Google Map API. Google Map API developed by Google is an application programming interface based on JavaScript. We can operate the map, such as zooming out, zooming in, panning and locating. by writing JavaScript function. Data of the system, such as logging in information, postal car information, train information, post office information are stored in database.Base on swarm intelligence scheme, different purposes, requirements of ordinary mail and express mail, by constructing different models of route planning agent, the optimal scheduling algorithm used in the platform can reach different optimal results via the agents'group activities.Finally, the postal scheduling platform developed realizes scheduling. And in the end some shortcomings of developing the software platform are pointed out, and some advices for perfecting the postal scheduling platform are given.
