This paper describes the design of the hardware and driver software of the ultra-low-priced multimedia mobile phones, which is achieved by the way that using QSC6010 chip of Qualcomm to control the VC0988 audio processing chip and VC0529 video processing chip of Vimicro.Mobile phone market is currently very competitive, while maintaining a low price, the grant of higher-than-expected use of the user experience will be an important means of competition, this design is the pursuit of this principle.VC0988 and VC0529 are Vimicro's new low-cost multimedia processing chip,used in conjunction of them can achieve the play of MP3 and other music files,the decoder of image file in JPG format and other functions.The use of low-end CDMA chip QSC6010 of Qualcomm can achieve the design of ultra-low-end multimedia handset.In the design of hardware,QSC6010 controls VC0988 and VC0529 on the same bus,operating them through different strobe lines.The two chips used the same clock source and different power supplys,which can meet the requirements of the two chips at the lowest cost.In the design of software,because application software of the control chip adopts the BREW software of Qualcomm,the control of the two chips should meet the control requirements of the BREW software to meet the software architecture of the system and facilitate the program of the software code.Finally,after the production of the hardware,we should debug the driver software to determine the design of the hardware and amend the mistakes of the programmed software.There are only a few questions in this design and can be solved through software.It should be noted that the structure of the software is very important.If the architecture is uncertain in the beginning of the software design,it would be very difficult to develop in the latter part of the work.
