Since photonic crystal fibers flexible structure design features with excellent properties, and broad application prospect in high power PCF laser,photonic crystal fibers play an important role in research area. In this manuscript, the theory of photonic crystal fiber properties were simulated and analyzed, what's more the experiment of photonic crystal fiber laser are studied.Based on the finite element method, the plane wave expansion method and multi-polarization method,photonic crystal fiber's property,such as effective refractive index, dispersion, nonlinear, loss characteristics are simulated and investigated. The geometric structure of photonic crystal fiber affects its properties. A kind of hollow-core PBG photonic crystal fiber,which has bandgap in infrared is designed. What's more, the dispersion, confinement loss properties of that kind of photonics crystal fiber is analyzed.The influence factors of Yb3+photonic crystal fiber's low output power is analyzed. The experiment and methods of fiber facet handling is investigated. According to the numerical simulation of thermal effect, we simulate the temperature distribution situation of PCF's facet. Last but not least,a water-cooling device for photonic crystal next fiber lasers experiment was designed.
