The features of Virtual Space Teleconferencing and research situation about it both domestic and abroad are introduced in this paper, and a Virtual Space Teleconferencing System based on virtual simulation software Vega and DI-Guy is proposed. System overall function is planned in detail, and the description of the system hierarchy structure is given. The method of virtual scene construction is discussed. A realistic virtual meeting room is constructed based on the techonologies of three-dimension model building, model optimization and texture mapping. In respect of virtual human simulation, based on analyzing body movements, human skeleton, the relationship between these two, a simplified skeleton system is defined and joint variables are setted for the virtual human model. Human geometric modeling and kinematic modeling are completed. To expand the DI-Guy human model library, a detailed process of configurating human models is presented. Furthermore, the facial expressions of virtual human is studied. By adjusting the positions of the face feature points, several typical expressions can be simulated on the human face model. Finally, a designing scheme of integrating distributed virtual teleconferencing is proposed. Using the Distributed Interactive Simulation(DIS) technology to expand the local conference terminals in space, the local conference terminals located in different areas can be integrated into an integral conference, in which all the conventioneers from local terminals can perceive and interact.
