The new requirements on higher spectrum efficiency and increasing data rate at the cell edge, along with consideration of alternative transmission technologies such as OFDM, open the question of the frequency reuse factor and interference control techniques in LTE.As OFDM using in LTE, ICI(Inter-Cell Interference) is more serious. Deploying co-channel network in LTE, how to maximizing spectrum efficiency, improving cell edge data rate and minimizing ICI is key point in this thesis. The thesis firstly introduces the interference control scheme as Inter-Cell Interference Coordination (ICIC). ICIC is considered as the most feasible selection. Then about co-channel network, the thesis presents interference solution scheme, which applies with power control and schedule. The thesis presents four frequency reuse scheme in LTE traffic channel, such as FR=3, the fractional frequency reuse (FFR) and soft frequency reuse (SFR) 1&2. According to system simulation, the thesis further discusses performance of those schemes in reducing ICI and improving cell edge spectrum efficiency. After system simulation, analyzing the advantages and disadvantages in FR=1, FR=3 and frequency reuse, the thesis concludes the performance of FFR and SFR. Meanwhile, the thesis summarizes some parameter's effect in those schemes, which affects the cell edge spectrum efficiency and cell edge data rate. All the discussion is to guide really network plan and construct. Finally, the thesis summarizes benefits of the FFR scheme and SFR scheme. For the further discussion, the thesis brings forward some improvement on SFR scheme, for example, power ratio of inner cell and outer cell, methods of classifying CEUs and CCUs.
