With the widespread development of miniaturization of computers and network, great progress has been achieved for mobile terminal technology, and the application market of mobile terminal is also growing.The research and implementation of mobile terminal has brought to people's attention increasingly and already been one important study subject.The research and implementation of a mobile terminal system software based on ARM Linux platform is put forward in this dissertation.The hardware of the mobile terminal is based on S3C6410 processor. A WiFi module with USB interface is choosed as the wireless network card. The operating system adopts embedded Linux, and MIPv6 protocol is used to support mobility of the terminal.This dissertation expounds the mobile terminal system software, which comprises bootloader, embedded Linux kernel and root file system.Bootloader is stated in detail on U-Boot's Makefile, starting process and transplantation, among of which the transplantation contains configuring the device drivers and adding commands to U-Boot.The statement of embedded Linux kernel is stated on it's Makefile, starting process, transplantation ,among of which the transplantation is composed of the addition of MIPv6 protocol to the terminal and the transplantations of SD card driver,DM9000 network card driver,the wireless network card driver,touchscreen driver,LCD driver and so on.Root file system is stated in detail on the root file system structure and it's production process. On this basis, how to build a MIPv6 network based on Linux are introduced,and the device drivers and mobile function of the mobile terminal are tested.From the test result, the transplanted device drivers are able to support the devices on the mobile terminal.To the mobility, the mobile terminal can keep in communicating with correspondent node while it is moving between the Home Link and the Foreign Link.
