Design And Implementation Of Cooperative Research Platform In E-Environment For Higher Education

The development of information technology changed the ways of human activities; human activities also facilitated the development of information technology.With the changing times, the personal heroism era of scientific field is over; research activities have increasingly relied on team cooperation. Confronting those complex issues of natural sciences and humanities and social sciences, researchers often need to organize cross-regional, interdisciplinary, cross-ethnic, cross-cultural team, because that are necessary conditions to solve them. Organize such cooperative research team is very difficult before the modern information and communication technologies developed, some large-scale research projects usually rely on the researchers to carry out research together.The rapid development of computer and network technology as the representative of modern information technology provide researchers team with ways such as e-mail, forums, real-time communication, video conferencing, so research activities are no longer required the researchers are concentrated together; At the same time, information technology also provide convenient and efficient research tools, such as digital literature database, network survey software, statistics software, etc., thus reducing the intensity of research to improve research efficiency and quality.Such research activities, which are integrated modern information technology into, is called "e-research" by some scholars. It has changed the traditional scientific paradigm, the genes of e-era are inserted into the scientific research activities, and create an entirely new research ideas, and gradually evolved into a complex paradigm.However, the use of e-mail, forums, etc., can not meet the requirements of the researchers nevertheless, because they want to be able to effectively manage a virtual cooperative research team, in order to effectively carry out research activities. Currently, this type of research activity management system, or platform, are rare, therefore this research made the development of cooperative research platform for e-environment. Taking into account the direction of platform, as well as the author's work environment, and further reduced to "design and implementation of university cooperative research platform in e-environment."Based on the cooperative research mechanisms and processes, this research applies computer supported cooperative work (CSCW) theory, and uses developmental research process to analyze, design and implement the cooperative research platform in e-environment. Platform supports university teachers, graduate students and research workers to carry out web-based cooperative research. The research team members dispersed through the platform carries out research activities. Platform achieves sharing of research resources, research project management, research team management, scheduling, and group communication, co-authored and other functions.
