With the development of science and technology, the management of information and monitoring of production process which used of computer have gradually penetrated into various sectors. The advantages are gradually reflected such as the liberation of labor force, the improvement of production efficiency, the benefit of environment. The development and application of short-range wireless communications technology reduces the cost of cabling significantly, and also improves the cumbersome scene. The data monitoring system based on RF technology is designed and developed which is relied on aluminum industrial field in this paper. Anode current is a very important data in aluminum production process. Over-current will cause the problems of claws brushing, reduction cell running instability, and will affect the production of aluminum finally.After examining the scene of aluminum industry, the monitoring system was designed which based on the RF communication technology. The system has achieved the supervision and prediction of the aluminum anode current which included the features of real-time and multi-point. The monitoring system is composed of anode current sampler (collecting part), data collection device (control part) and PC (monitor terminal). The system uses AT89S52 as the key controller, nRF2401 as the interface chip which realizes the wireless RF transceiver of the data in the system. The acquisition interface has been designed at the collecting part. In order to realize the data exchange with PC, RS232 and USB communication interfaces are integrated at the control part. The MCU programs of collecting part and control part are developed by C programming language under Keil C51 circumstance. And in order to achieve a friendly human-computer interaction, the software of PC monitor terminal has been developed.The system analysis, designs of hardware and software are given in detail. The main function and design approach of the PC application software are also given in this paper. In addition, the paper has researched the method which can improve system reliability of wireless data transmission, and has prospected extensions of the system in future.The system could run stably, and has low costs of maintenance, and is easy to use, can meet the requirement of monitoring.
