With the development of micro-electronics technology, the development of electronic products have been greatly promoted, learning machine as a general electronic products have been coming into the primary and middle school students on a large scale. Learning machine no longer stays in the area of learning English, but improves and innovates its function continually, and develops towards to multi-disciplinary and multi-functional. The wireless communications technology, which is developing rapidly, can replace the short-distance connection technology with cables to resolve the wireless communication problem of electronics.On the basis of learning machine presently, the "wireless test module" is designed in this paper, which composed an easy, agile and convenient examination system with PC through the wireless transmission system.The popular short-distance wireless data communication standards are analyzed, and a short-range wireless transmission system based on nRF2401 and AT89C51RB2 is designed in this paper. In order to better exert the high-speed transmission function of the nRF2401 and the strongpoints that USB interface have, the transforming from the USB interface to the RS232 interface by CH340 is implemented in this paper. The serial communication protocol for serial ports and the database applicable for system are designed. On the platform of Visual C++ 6.0, a friendly, easily operating interface on PC is developed by MFC technology and ODBC database accessing technology. The software and driver control program of the learning machine are developed by C programming language under Keil C51 circumstance, and the test functions of learning machine are realized. The hardware and software design of the system are analyzed in detail, and the realization methods of the hardware and software are given in this paper.The test to each module of the system is made respectively and the integration test is made to the whole system in the lab. The test results indicate that the system can implement the expectant functions and has a good reliability and stability. The effective wireless distance of the system can achieve 35 meters and the exam can be taken in the classroom, which is known through the test.
