The world today is an era of knowledge explosion. To aquire, identify, and use network information resources effectively, information user not only have to develop effective information seeking strategy, but also have to evaluate the validity and usefulness of encountered information. And in this process, one of the most important influencing factors is individual epistemological belief, which plays an important role in information seeking. Epistemological belief acts like a filter for users to retain or discard encountered information. Therefore, the study on epistemological beliefs of college students not only will help us explore individual's cognitive mechanism in information seeking process, but also will provide new theoretical guidance to information user study and help us take appropriate measures to enhance the information seeking capabilities of students. This study is particularly targeted to undergraduate students, On the basis of domestic and foreign relevant research, a college student epistemological belief scale is established, and the influence of epistemological belief on college students' network information seeking behavior is investigated. This study finds that:epistemological beliefs system comprises five dimensions, among which knowledge, judging of knowledge, nature of knowledge, acquisition speed of knowledge have significantly different effects on information seeking behavior.
