In this paper,we studied the characteristics of the radio wave propagation in terrestrial environment.Using C++ Builder and Mapobjects,we establish the hills geography information system (GIS) and city geography information system (GIS).In hills area,on the basis of prediction model ITU-R P.526,the Deygout model is used to solve the multiple knife-edge diffraction problem,where the reflection loss is added too,the result is well agreement with the result of Egli model which is used in engineering.In city area,the prediction model ITU-R P.1546 is studied and the simulation results using C++ Builder are achieved.Compared with Okumra-Hatamodel under specific conditions,the modeling of ITU-R P.1546 model is verified to be correct. This method has layed a fairly good foundation to the further independent development of the field strength prediction software fitting for the nation.
