In digital communication systems, some redundancy are often artificially increased in order to induce the impact and interference of the transmission process, this function is finished by the channel coder. And how to recognize the channel code according to the coded sequences is the problem of the recognition of channel coding. Recognition of channel coding technology is becoming more and more important as channel coding technology is being widely used in the application areas, so, it's not only of great importance in theory but also of great significance in utility to do some search in this field.In this thesis, the main problem we studied is the recognition of convolutional code and cyclic code. For the recognition of convolutional code, the direction of the improvements is disscussed, and the technology of the recognition of cyclic code is mainly studied, not only that the mathematic models are established, but also the algorithm based on the mathematic model is proposed. First, the coding charateristics and properties of the cyclic code are studied and the mathematic models are established containing the coefficients of the syndrome polynomial; then the coding circuit of the cyclic code and its mathematic model are compared to find out the problem of the recognition of the cyclic code is the promotion of linear feedback shift register(LFSR), so the recognition of the cyclic code can be solved by Berlekamp-Massey iterative algorithm(BM algorithm); by the simulation of the algorithm, the recognition of cyclic code can not only be solved correctly but also be resilient in a certain extent.
