In the last few decades, energy crisis is much more severe as the development of society. Scientific researches mainly focus on the way that may promote social development with limited energy resource. Electric-power is one of the most widely used power source, heighten electric device power consumption efficiency will lighten the crisis a lot. As different brightness is demanded at different situation, brightness control is one important way to save electric power under this situation.A design program of brightness control CMOS chip have been put forward during this paper. It studies the functions of top-level module first, and classifies these functions then distributes them into different submodules, and then completes each submodule from the bottom up, specific designs the trigger pulse generate, zero-crossing detection, logical operate module, etc. And at last, connect the submodules to each other, the top module is formed.A detailed description of the controller has been done from the overall structure of the idea to the specific logic design in this paper. And it realizes all kinds of basic operations of the controller, such as trigger pulse generate, logical operate, and so on. Use the verilog language to describe it and demonstrate that the controller functions and sequential logic is correct through Modelsim software. And use CMOS voltage comparator form the module to realize the operation of zero-crossing detection and system clock generate. Use the Pspice software to simulate it and demonstrate that the design module functions is correct.
