Capture, alignment, tracking is one of the key technology of laser communications. The main function of the fine tracking system is to realize capturing, aligning and tracking, and its properties affect the performance of the optical communication system.First, this paper introduced the technology of free-space optical communication and APT .Second, the important part of the fine tracking system was analyzed. The system model and the correspond algorithm was introduced. I had accomplished the hardware design of electro-optical tracking image processing system which included Camera link interface unit, clocking circuit, Coordinate calculation unit and reset circuit, the power-up configuration of FPGA, serial circuit and power circuit. I had finished the software design of electro-optical tracking image processing system , which included The unit element, analog signals generated format, image processing unit, the unit of data display unit, scheduling model unit, serial ports, sending unit, unit and reset to each unit. The compensation had been simulated, so I could draw a conclusion that the various parts of the design can be projected full requirements.
