Personal made to measure for garniture is a new mode of clothing production in 21th century and becomes one of most important points of research in the field of clothing production. Non-touch 3D human body measurement as one of key parts of personal made to measure for garniture is the main feature of modern body measurement technology and also the future trend of body measurement. In this thesis, we analyze current research and majored research on technologies of image measurement system and 3-D body measurement. We develop a 3D body measurement method with a single camera. The main works can be summarized as follows:(1) We analyze the existing body measurement system and image-based measuring techniques. According to the requirements of Personalized Custom Clothing, we expatiate on scheme and process of a 3D body measurement system with a single camera based on image technology.(2) We present that add a mirror system before the camera to acquire pictures which include both front and side appearance of a human body. It is one of the keys to realize 3D body measurement system with a single camera. We analyze and design the mirror system in details. The experiment results show this approach has a good effect and practicability.(3) On analysis of existing image segmentation techniques and the requirement for body contour extraction, a new approach of body contour extraction of parameter optimization based on enhanced da jin method combined with morphology algorithm for body contour extraction is proposed in this thesis. The result shows this approach has a good effect and practicability.(4) Combining the human shape information extracted by the threshold segmentation approach with the proportion information of various parts of the human body defined in GB and the geometric features of the various parts in human body. And the method of automatic extraction of human body key section feature data is achieved in the thesis. Then we research the body silhouette curves, and get 3-D body circumference size by curve's mathematical approach.An in-depth study on 3-D body measurement system will promote the development of individual made to measure for garniture.
