As the rapid development of computer technology and networks, especially with the appearance of the three dimension scanner which provides a strong support to rag trade, it is impossible to realize "Made to Measure" with computer technology. Electronic Made to Measure is a new mode of clothing production in the 21st century. EMTM utilizes 3D body scanning technology, computer technology and network technology to combine body measure, shape analysis, style choice, clothing design, clothing order, clothing production together. It has realized the convenient and swift industry chain. It has already become the focal point of research and study in the field of domestic and international clothing production. EMTM will become an important developing direction of digitized clothing production in the future.This paper regards "The key technology research of Electronic Made to Measure with China and Europe cooperation" (045107026)as the background of studying. This project is under the care of ShangHai Science and Technology Commission. The focal point of this paper is on the key technology research of eMTM, which includes the building of three-dimensional human body database, the preparing and exchanging human body data, and the implementation of electronic Made to Measure system.In the light of the research result of the latest three-dimensional human database abroad and the background of projects now being dealt with, this paperanalyzes the base function of the electronic Made to Measure system according to the untouched-3D-body-scanner bought from American. By analyzing the whole logic structure of the electronic Made to Measure system, we divide the whole system into three different subsystem: the system of preparing and exchanging three-dimensional human database, the system of analyzing and modeling the body shape and the system of generating body model and its application. This paper focuses on the analysis, design and realization of the system of preparing and exchanging three-dimensional human database. This subsystem set up the platform on which it provides the other two subsystems with service. It also makes users be able to use it easily by interacting interface.This paper studies the system of analyzing and modeling the body shape, and analyzes several algorithms which are used in the system. It analyzes three methods which are used in the system of generating body model and its application to generate special human body model, designs the data model which is needed by these process, and provides these two subsystems with good services. This paper also discusses the problems of data exchange. It puts forward the solution to the problem of data safety which appears when users querying the body data from different sections. This paper analyzes and realizes the database for eMTM and the system functions. We set up the physical structure of the database according to supposed system object, then establish the framework of the whole system. After doing so, we finish coding and realize the system of preparing and exchanging three-dimensional human database based on the web. We utilized the sample data gathered by our university andclothing enterprises to examine the electronic Made to Measure system. The expert in clothing design proves that it has made the good result in this system.This paper mainly research key technology for eMTM. We have designed and implemented an electronic Made to Measure system. This system has already provided service for clothing enterprises. This system has offered the good data support for dress designing and production. This system has met the needs of the research and teaching for the clothing universities and scientific research institutions. The research work of this paper will play a good role for future research and popularization of eMTM in our country.
